The Ballets
Romeo and Juliet
Romeo and Juliet is a total theater production choreographed by Harriett Kinter, it adds Shakespeare's text to the classical dance form. It is aimed at a middle to older audience and serves educationally as an introduction to Elizabethan drama, ballet and classical music and could certainly be viewed as a complete theater for adults. The subject matter is at once popular and classical. The fight sequences were staged and choreographed by Roddy Kinter (current fight coordinator for New York City Opera). The length may vary according to the individual theater needs. Three additional scenes are inserted for the extended adult evening.
This production of The Sleeping Beauty follows the original story by Charles Perrault. It is edited to suit a one hour time frame appropriate for school programs and family matinee. The original choreographer Marius Petipa, worked very closely with composer Peter Tchaikovsky to create this beautiful piece of theater. Every production since has been based on the original concept. This production is told in four scenes, has beautiful costumes and scenery and is fully narrated.
